Second Week Caribou- Excellent

We are pleased to report our second week of caribou hunting was much like our first, very successful. The Kaminuriak herd returned to its normal patterns and our second week of hunters continued enjoyed another good hunt. 11 hunters filled 21 of the 22 licenses they held and we could have filled many more. #22 could have filled his second tag except for having two groups of nice bulls chased away by big wolves !  Quality was excellent with several exceptional trophies. Various reports indicate with the return to the traditional pattern, the Manitoba hunt has far exceeded the ones further North in Nunavut.  Here are some photos of our week two results, enjoy !

Hurricane Irma Update-FL Office

Unfortunately, our Florida office has sustained major water damage from Hurricane Irma.  We have moved into another unit and at this time, the office number has been forwarded to the lodge but we expect that to be back in the office early next week. . Our local Ocala FL area has limited email, phone and cable service. For email communication, please email us  at

First Caribou of the Year

Although it is early, it appears our caribou herd is following their traditional migration patterns with animals now entering the province in consistent numbers. One of the first animals was a beauty taken  by Ron Watson with guide/manager Ralph Lloyd. Five animals were taken yesterday in the first half day of hunting with some estimated in the mid 300s. Many hunters say, “Call us when the caribou are in!”  Well, that’s exactly what we are doing.  Many know we are North America’s finest caribou hunt but all Manitoba outfitters were severely affected by a delayed migration the last two years. Based on reports we received today, there are  good pockets of animals in Northern Manitoba with a large amount positioned just to the North. A prime situation. We still have some openings- 4 hunts Sept. 9-16, 6 hunts Sept. 16-23, and 4 hunts Sept. 23-30. Price is $ 4995, trophies fees $ 1350 each. The price is going up in 2018 so this is a PRIME OPPORTUNITY.

On Archers Choice TV Now !

For those who have followed CSAH over the years, they know we are a special favorite of  Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo of Archer’s Choice. They and their crew have filmed with us over 9 times and they gave us the tag, ‘Manitoba Monsters.’ They have captured many milestones with us over the years- Vicki’s first B&C bear, Ralph’s first big cinnamon, amongst many others-  but this week’s show was special as they chose to treat son RJ and make his first Northwoods experience a very special one with us. (we were honored)  The shows are a two part series, if you have not had a chance to catch the first show, you still have an opportunity left !

CSAH On Outdoor Channel This Week !!!

Catch a special spring bear show, Manitoba Bruins,  with Joe Thomas and Excalibur’s Outdoors America this week, 8/7/2017-8/13.

It was filmed just this last June. It was Joe’s fourth hunt with us and his second spring bear hunt.  On his first, Joe took a nice bear and his son took an absolute monster. We don’t want to spill the beans but 2017 did not disappoint. This episode really catches the epitome of what sets the CSAH spring bear hunt apart from all the rest. Check it out , air dates are–

Spring Bear Crazy !!!

joet1The 2017 spring bear  is going to go down as a wild one !!!  Every year can be a different  but this year, we are seeing some crazy things.

A certain famous TV personality was washing her coffee cup off in the lake when she looked up and was startled by a big bear sitting in the camp boat looking at her just feet away. It was a foot race back to camp and fortunately, she is still here to film many more episodes. The bruin , which paced the camp back and forth for several minutes, was not quite so fortunate.

joet2We had another one of our guide crews chased back to the Beaver while setting up boats by a MONSTER bear. One of the old guides said it was the biggest bear he had ever seen in his 65 years in the North.

Last night, one hunter had eight bears on his bait before he took the largest one.

So far we have 10 bears down and some real beauties including a blonde.  We are adding them up but it looks like 2017 is going to be a Grand Slam season.

In the meantime, enjoy these photos of Joe Thomas as he joined us for his fourth film shoot and took a beauty that he figures will go over 20” plus some monster pike with guide Robert Merasty.

It is the best, and most unique,  2 for 1 trophy bear hunt in Canada.

2017 Hunts

We still have a few caribou hunts available, Sept. 16-23 and 23-30, and 3 moose hunts, Sept. 16-23 and Sept. 30-Oct. 7. Give us a call and you can still experience some of the most incredible fly-in trophy hunting in Northern Canada.

2018 Hunts

Now is the time to confirm your 2018 hunts with CSAH.  Hunts are filling quickly.
