It was down to the last day of the 2014 hunting season, with our last moose hunter in search of his trophy. We are pleased to say that hunter, Jeff Meiners, was successful this morning with another beastie measuring 53″. That will match his son’s trophy, taken days earlier, and preserve peace in the household.
2014 will go down as our finest moose season ever, 19 for 21. 21 hunters took or had good opportunity at 19 moose. 16 hit the ground. Of the 19, 12 were 50″ or bigger with the largest a 57″ by Jim Micelli. We look forward to sharing more with you over the next few months.
The 2014 moose season is shaping up to be one of our best ever. We still have one hunter going with three days left but the results are phenomenal. Out of 21 hunters, we have 15 down, 1 (50″) missed, and 2 passes. That is 18 for 21. Yesterday, we took two more, a 53″ and our largest so far of the season, a 57″ by Jim Micelli. 11 of the 18 moose down are 50″ or bigger. Only two were under 43″ and one of those hunters had an opportunity at a 50″ earlier. What’s even more exciting is this is only a start. We have several areas we have not yet hunted and over 1,000,000 acres of burn from last year which will add another huge boost to our area.
C’mon #21 !!!
