CSAH Delivers on Great, Challenging Caribou Hunt

We are sharing a great article written by 2017 caribou hunter Martha Harding contributing writer/hunter for Sci Wisconsin’s Hunters magazine. Martha and her husband were on our third hunt in 2017 and after 2 very successful weeks, the herd suddenly dwindled. Reconnaissance flights showed a nice section of animals 30 miles to the east. CSAH quickly shifted gears and, weather-permitting, tried to get as many of our hunters over to these animals.

Fall Hunts Now feature Charters from Winnipeg

In order to bring CSAH hunters the finest, most convenient hunt possible, Gangler’s CSAH has made the decision to run our charters from Winnipeg. Hunters will depart early morning of their hunt on Calm Air’s comfortable and fast ATR 42 and should be arriving at the lodge by 10 am that morning. Hunters will be out in the field that day ! Return to Winnipeg will be late afternoon the last day of their hunt. All hunters’ game and racks will travel back to Winnipeg with them.  This is the quickest, most convenient hunt transportation in Manitoba.  So remote so quickly and easily !

Not one but TWO 61″ Moose

We just concluded an excellent moose season.  Despite a slow to warm up rut, our guides put their expertise to work and put together another great year !

The final tally-  15 for 20, with  12 bulls 48” or better, 11 over 50”,  6 – 58” or bigger, and 2- 61”. That is not a misprint, not one but TWO 61″ moose.   If you want big Canadian moose, Northern Manitoba and Gangler’s CSAH is where it is at.  Check out this photo of Drake Litterall with his 61″ along with his dad Jeff’s 54″. Drake’s is a monster and Jeff’s has some of the largest paddles we have ever seen.

Second Week Caribou- Excellent

We are pleased to report our second week of caribou hunting was much like our first, very successful. The Kaminuriak herd returned to its normal patterns and our second week of hunters continued enjoyed another good hunt. 11 hunters filled 21 of the 22 licenses they held and we could have filled many more. #22 could have filled his second tag except for having two groups of nice bulls chased away by big wolves !  Quality was excellent with several exceptional trophies. Various reports indicate with the return to the traditional pattern, the Manitoba hunt has far exceeded the ones further North in Nunavut.  Here are some photos of our week two results, enjoy !
